Overview

Tint World’s legacy began in 1982 with a single location in Tamarac, FL. The vision, to create a top-of-the-line window tinting and automotive styling service operation, quickly expanded to include larger vehicles, as well as boats, homes, offices, and commercial buildings. Growing popularity and demand for its services soon gave rise to a chain of stores throughout South Florida.  

Then, in 2006, auto repair franchise veteran Charles Bonfiglio decided to pursue his dream of owning his own car audio and accessory business and purchased Tint World’s six-store chain. A year later, the company’s first franchise store opened in Hollywood, FL, and Tint World was off to the races. Today, the business has upwards of 250 locations open or in development worldwide, with plans for 600 total franchises in North America alone.     

To bolster its growth and innovation, Tint World needed a software partner that would help its stores operate at peak efficiency while continuing to provide first-class customer service. The Challenge

Limited Time for Onboarding
Whenever a company considers adopting new shop management software, one question that often comes up is, “How long will it take to implement this and train my employees?” In the automotive aftermarket, time is incredibly valuable. And for Tint World—a business on the move—its new software rollout had to be smooth and successful. Taking too long to bring operators and employees up to speed simply wasn’t an option. Which meant an intuitive interface alongside quick and effective staff training became yet another crucial part of the equation.

Lack of Modern Tech
In the first six months of 2024, Tint World announced new locations in California, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio (the state’s first), Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas. In light of its rapid and ongoing expansion, maintaining consistency across all stores would be critical to the company’s mission of delivering premium products with unmatched, white-glove service. A software solution had to be capable of scaling up to meet Tint World’s evolving needs. Leveraging modern technology would be critical, too, in order to support its franchisees with accurate, real-time information and insights.

When rolling out new software, especially on a larger scale, there’s always the potential for complications. But Shopmonkey’s ImplementationCustomer Success team was ready for action, from the initial onboarding, to training Tint World’s staff, to sharing best practices.

In all, approximately 75 Tint World locations were onboarded within 3 days. And within just a few days most had already mastered what, for them, was an entirely new shop management system. Clearly, the time Shopmonkey spent researching Tint World’s specific needs, as well as the hours and effort that went into the solution’s intuitive design, product/market analysis, and engineering, had paid off. 

“Shopmonkey lived up to every promise that they made in delivering the product the way that we need the product to be able to function for our franchise,” confirmed Tint World Chief Operating Officer Jeff Stark.

“The Shopmonkey system is very forward-thinking,” Stark told us after his team had settled into the new framework. “Everybody really enjoys using it—they feel it really helps them to run their shop effectively. Not only that, but [it’s allowed] owners to run it from afar.”

Once integrated, it didn’t take long for Tint World franchisees to begin realizing the benefits of their new software. “It boosted our efficiency—we’re able to get things done a lot faster,” said Tint World Coconut Creek, FL, Store Manager Joe Iglesias, who listed improved reporting on P&Ls, tighter inventory control, and better workflow as just a few of Shopmonkey’s many advantages. “I have it all in one platform,” he added, “and it's easy to manage.”

What’s more, Shopmonkey’s check-in feature ensures the Tint World team never misses an opportunity to earn repeat business. “With the ability to collect 100% of the emails through Shopmonkey,” Stark noted, “we are able to retarget to 100% of our customers. It gives us a much higher return business rate.

“I would tell anybody looking at Shopmonkey, large or small, that it's a fantastic program,” he continued. “It's one of those programs that can work for anybody no matter what the situation is.”
