Excitement is building for SEMA 2024, as more than 160,000 attendees are expected in Las Vegas for an up-close look at the latest automotive products, services, and technology.
Each year, the industry’s movers, shakers, trendsetters, and decision makers come to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show to share ideas, conduct business, attend educational sessions, and witness thousands of product launches and vehicle reveals.
While in Vegas, attendees from every corner of the automotive aftermarket will have countless opportunities to network with fellow professionals, develop new skills, discover emerging trends, and rub shoulders with industry VIPs and celebrities. Plus, there are chances to stock up on freebies and merch around almost every corner.
Exhibits & Showcases
The displays at SEMA are a must-see, with over 2,000 exhibitors presenting their best and brightest products, innovations, and developments. It’s a massive spectacle covering everything from car parts and accessories to cutting-edge tools, machinery, and automotive software solutions.
This year’s event, Nov. 5-8, will also showcase more than 1,500 vehicles throughout exhibitors’ booths and the Las Vegas Convention Center. From classic hot rods and tricked-out lowriders to blistering hypercars and off-road beasts, SEMA’s featured vehicles are a feast for the senses.
A highlight of every show is the Battle of the Builders competition, which pits the craftsmanship and creativity of top builders across four categories: Hot Rod & Hot Rod Truck; 4 Wheel Drive & Off-Road; Sport Compact, Import Performance, Luxury & Exotic; and the Young Guns division for up-and-comers. This high-profile contest shines a light on the incredible capabilities of today’s customizers and modification specialists.
Another intriguing feature is the SEMA FutureTech Studio, which offers a peek into the world of low carbon and electric vehicle (EV) mods. Here, attendees can envision a sustainable future auto industry, from electric powertrains to EV conversion kits.
New Product & Service Launches
A main attraction of SEMA 2024 will be the unveiling of new and innovative products, technologies, and business services. Companies from around the world take this opportunity to debut their latest developments for the automotive community and media.
In fact, one of this year’s most anticipated launches is Shopmonkey's Express Lane. Specifically designed for quick services, this new shop management tool helps auto repair shops streamline their operations and manage daily tasks more efficiently. For shop owners looking to boost productivity and profits, Express Lane will be a major breakthrough.
Unique Live Demos
Live demonstrations and hands-on displays are another of SEMA’s calling cards. Included this year, welding experts will showcase advanced welding techniques in several live sessions, offering valuable insights for fellow metalworking professionals.
Virtual reality is on the agenda, too, with multiple VR demos giving attendees a taste of learning and training in tomorrow’s automotive industry. Mechanics, technicians, and enthusiasts will discover new ways to develop their skills and knowledge through these highly immersive experiences.
What’s more, if you’re not already familiar with Shopmonkey’s core product offerings, come by our booth in the North Hall to see how the right shop management software can make all the difference: from improving operational efficiency and getting more done in a day, to bringing in new business and moving more cars through your bays.
Speakers & Talks
SEMA 2024 will include an impressive lineup of some 136 speakers sharing their expertise and insights across a range of subjects. This year’s presentations will cover auto care, business operations, marketing strategies, leading-edge technology, and others.
Among these presentations are the Featured Education Sessions, where attendees can hear inspiring industry success stories, tap into experiential knowledge, and learn from thought leaders and even celebrities, like adventurer and TV personality Bear Grylls.
For the latest in collision repair, the experts from I-CAR will provide valuable insights on industry topics, emerging trends, and future developments. Sessions will include the latest in MIG welding techniques and applications, an overview on EV technology, and an in-depth look at repair and calibration for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).
Another key session is the OEM Summit, hosted by the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS). In a special presentation, Rivian’s Research, Engineering, Service, and Collision teams will reveal how automakers research, develop, and validate new vehicle designs.
Driving Experiences & Outdoor Activations
SEMA’s outdoor activations never disappoint, and this year companies like Hoonigan, Optima Batteries, and Shell are bringing the heat with drifting exhibitions, stunt driving sessions, and attendee ride-alongs.
The Optima Village, located in the Bronze Lot south of the convention center’s South Hall, will be a hub of heart-pounding excitement, featuring various auto-themed activities, giveaways, and more designed to give attendees an unforgettable experience.
In addition, the prestigious OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational (OUSCI), also in the Bronze Lot, will showcase some of the industry’s most impressive street-legal performance vehicles in head-to-head competition across a series of challenging events.
Art, Music & Entertainment
SEMA is all about car culture, and the show’s Art Walk exhibition celebrates this rich history and heritage. From paintings and sculptures to prints and limited-edition pieces, you’ll see how visual representations of the automobile have evolved through the works of artists who share a passion for cars. If you stop by to see Shopmonkey at booth #11861, you can also participate in small-scale racing with our slot car activation to win unique prizes.
No modern SEMA Show would be complete without live music and entertainment. Showgoers will get to mix and mingle, and blow off a little steam, during Industry Night at SEMA on Nov. 5, when The Goo Goo Dolls, as well as fan favorites O.A.R. and Reignwolf, take the stage. The vibes continue during SEMA Fest, which returns for its second year with performances by popular bands Cage the Elephant, Sublime, Fitz and the Tantrums, and Petey on Nov. 8.
